Who I Am

Let me introduce myself. My name is Karyl and I was born and raised in Michigan growing up listening to Motown as it was evolving. Ever since then, this kind of music has dug down deep into my very soul. I remember in my teens listening to R&B; it was top priority for me, running home from school to watch Dick Clark's AMERICAN BANDSTAND and the other dance TV shows of that era. The highlight of that time was in 1964 when I got to meet Marvin Gaye, Jr. Walker and "Obie" Benson of the Four Tops. I remember to this day how driving by the golfing range with my mother and two sisters; we saw them hitting a bucket of balls at a golfing range and actually had the nerve to stop, get out of the car and actually walk up to them. I remember them being so friendly, big smiles on their faces and I shook hands with them too! I got their autographs and to this day I still carry it with me for good luck! It wasn't until I watched the TV movie THE TEMPTATIONS in 1998 that I decided I had fallen in love all over again with R&B. So in trying and give back what those artists have given to me and others, I decided to make my own personal tribute web page to thank them for their hard work, love and devotion that have made so many people happy.
